With numerous benefits already secured, Embassy Suites Denver elected to explore LEED-certification to capture the sizeable market of eco-conscious business and leisure travelers. Recently honored as one of the “Top 25 US Hotels” by TripAdvisor, Embassy Suites Denver demonstrates that a hotel can pursue sustainability, profitability, and high-quality, comfortable guestrooms through the LEED certification process.

Energy Management Works for the Embassy Suites Denver

Telkonet’s intelligent thermostats and occupancy sensors, installed throughout the hotel, reduce the energy used to heat and cool unoccupied guestrooms. Telkonet’s Recovery TimeTM technology represented a major differentiator for the Embassy Suites Denver. To balance comfort and efficiency, the intelligent thermostats consider data from a room environment to determine how far the temperature can drift without compromising comfort. Using Recovery Time, the hotel discreetly enables energy efficiency in unoccupied rooms while still providing a superior guest experience.

All LEED for New Construction projects must achieve at least two points under Energy and Atmosphere Credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance. At the Embassy Suites Denver, Telkonet helped earn the mandatory points, and assisted the hotel in meeting Energy and Atmosphere Prerequisite 2: Minimum Energy Performance.

Certification Result: LEED Silver

Telkonet’s energy management technology, along with ongoing sustainability efforts throughout the hotel, enabled the Embassy Suites Denver – Downtown/ Convention Center to earn LEED Silver certification in July 2011. As the first LEED Silver hotel in both the Denver metropolitan area and the Embassy Suites brand portfolio, the Embassy Suites Denver sets the standard for energy efficiency.
